About

Chelsea Davies

Chelsea Davies -13.jpg

Chelsea Davies is a children’s author and mother of three, who believes in the magic of picture books.

Living in the picturesque Margaret River region of Western Australia and gaining inspiration from her surroundings, Chelsea writes poetry and picture books to engage, empower and entertain young minds in a compelling, yet nurturing way.

In 2016, Chelsea signed her first publishing contract with Empowering Resources for her debut picture book, Come Home Ella. This was followed by a second contract in 2017 for Where I Love to Be.

Since discovering creative writing, Chelsea has completed several writing courses and workshops, including AWC's Writing Picture Books course and Creative Writing One.  Always on the lookout for competitions, conferences, and anything writing related, she’s passionate about development within this field.

At the 2018 CYA Conference in Brisbane, Chelsea's competition entry, Everything Big, placed 3rd in the Aspiring Children’s - Preschool Aged Picture Book category.

When it’s time to put down the pen, Chelsea might be found practicing yoga, engrossed in a novel, meditating with paint, or enjoying sun, sand and surf with family and friends.

Chelsea describes creative writing as her ‘bliss’ and plans to continue creating a little magic of her own.
